PERFORMANCE
Honda Civic

When you’re traveling around town for work, running errands, or meeting up with friends, you’ll want a vehicle able to keep up with your commuting needs. Fortunately, both the Civic and the Camry allow drivers to get around town with few stops.

Power for Errands or Fun

When comparing the fuel efficiency of the Honda Civic and the Toyota Camry, drivers of the Civic will have to make even fewer trips to the pump.

The 2023 Honda Civic EX trim gets up to an EPA-estimated 33 city/42 highway MPG.* Should you choose the Toyota Camry, you’ll only have the benefit of an EPA-estimated 28 city/39 highway MPG.

Ensure a Smooth Ride

When paired with the standard Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) and Eco Assistâ„¢, your fuel efficiency in the Honda Civic will be top-notch.

With the Camry, you’ll have a drive mode feature that includes an Eco mode, but you won’t have an Eco Assist™ system informing you how efficiently you’re driving. Plus, the Camry comes standard with an 8-speed automatic transmission, which won’t feel quite as smooth as the CVT of the Civic.

SAFETY
Honda Civic

No matter where you’re driving, safety is important. From roads you know like the back of your hand to new destinations with unfamiliar streets, you can count on your sedan to help protect you and yours.

Standard Safety

To help keep you and your passengers safe and secure while on the road, both vehicles offer comprehensive safety suites: Honda Sensing® and Toyota Safety Sense™ 2.5+. Honda Sensing® includes features such as:

  • Collision Mitigation Braking Systemâ„¢
  • Lane Keeping Assist System
  • Lane Departure Warning
  • Adaptive Cruise Control with Low-Speed Follow
  • Traffic Sign Recognition System

Toyota Safety Senseâ„¢ 2.5+ includes many comparable systems. Plus, both safety systems also have an optional Blind Spot Information System.

Dynamic Cameras

The main difference you’ll find between these safety systems is with their rearview cameras.

The Honda Civic comes standard with the multi-angle rearview camera with dynamic guidelines. This will help make it incredibly easy to see everything going on around your sedan as you parallel park. The Toyota Camry doesn’t come standard with dynamic gridlines on its backup camera. Plus, you’ll have to upgrade to get more than one angle.

TECHNOLOGY
Honda Civic

Of course, one of the best ways to enhance your drive is to turn up the music and take advantage of the technological features in these models. Both the Honda Civic and the Toyota Camry each come equipped with some sophisticated features.

In-Cabin Features & Technology

Each vehicle includes a dashboard-mounted display in its respective cabin.

You can use these screens to access your media options through Apple CarPlay® or Android Auto™ to stay entertained on long commutes. Want to make hands-free calls? Bluetooth® on the Civic and Amazon Alexa on the Camry make it easy to dial hands-free.

Automatic Audio Levels

The Honda Civic also comes with speed-sensitive volume compensation. This feature recognizes when the sound of the engine’s performance affects your ability to hear audio entertainment clearly. It will automatically adjust the audio levels to compensate for the loud engine noise.

Unfortunately for Camry drivers, this isn’t an offered feature.
